Continental liturgical vestment cope, 18th/ 19th c., having red and silver silk damask ground, with gold metallic brocade trim, cape with metallic braided fringe, terminating on large tassel, white paint staining/splatter near lower edge, tear to lining, approx 51"l, neck opening: approx 6"w, shoulder: approx 30"w, bottom width: approx 78"w (measurements taken laying flat), 6.25lbs Provenance: The collection of Kathryn V. Alexander, an antiques dealer and designer with over 20 years of experience operating shops in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Middleburg, Virginia. Kathryn retired in 2020 and now lives in Georgetown, Texas PLEASE NOTE: All of the textiles in this auction would likely benefit from a professional cleaning.
