The factors below are listed most decisive first. A preliminary evaluation costs nothing — send photographs and our specialists will tell you where yours sits.
- Maker and signature
- Signed Lalique, Daum, Gallé, Steuben, and Murano by a named house sell well above unsigned glass of similar appearance. Signatures are often small acid stamps or engraved script on the base.
- Studio glass versus tableware
- Signed studio work by artists such as Dale Chihuly and David Patchen is collected as sculpture and occupies a different price level from even the best cut tableware.
- Condition
- Glass shows every injury. Rim flea bites, base scratches, interior cloudiness in decanters, and chips on cut points all reduce value, and cloudiness in particular is usually permanent.
- Form and rarity
- Within one maker, an unusual model, a large size, or a scarce colour will outrun the common forms by a wide margin.

Is unsigned art glass worth consigning?
It can be. Much good Bohemian and Murano glass was never signed, and our specialists attribute on colour, technique, and form. It will not reach signed prices, but it sells.
Does a chipped rim matter much?
Yes, more than in most categories, because glass cannot be invisibly restored and grinding a rim alters the profile. Disclose it; we will catalogue it accurately.
Do you sell full sets of crystal stemware?
Yes. Complete services by Baccarat, Waterford, Lalique, and Val St. Lambert sell steadily, and complete sets do better than partial ones.
