Do you handle complete estates, or only individual high-value items?
We regularly evaluate and sell complete and partial estates. Between our catalog auctions and Warehouse sales, most of a typical estate can sell through Austin Auction Gallery.
Do you pick up estate contents?
For qualified estates and substantial consignments, yes. We coordinate professional packing and transport to our Austin gallery, and property is insured while in our possession.
Do I have to bring everything to you?
No. For larger estates and collections, start with photos, a phone call, or a walk-through. For smaller consignments, you are welcome to bring items to the gallery.
How is an auction different from an estate sale company?
An estate sale prices items for a weekend of local foot traffic. An auction opens property to competitive bidding from collectors and dealers nationwide and worldwide.
What does estate consignment cost?
Our published commissions range from 18% to 41% depending on sale price — rates include a 2% insurance fee that covers your property under our bailee's insurance policy while it is in our care — applied per lot and deducted from the hammer price. Rates can vary significantly based on the items and the estate, so contact a specialist to get your rate. There is no charge for a preliminary evaluation.
