Continental liturgical altar frontal or antependium cloth, 18th/ 19th c., in white silk damask upholstery, with central padded goldwork embroidery executed in gold and silver metal threads, depicting the Virgin Mary standing atop clouds, with remnants of printed face, hands, and feet, flanked on each side by couched "AM" double monogram, and bouquets of lilies, the scalloped border with beaded metallic filigree trim, finished with metallic braided fringe and sequined tassels, approx 14"h, 100"w, 2.25lbs Provenance: The collection of Kathryn V.
