(lot of 2) Custom-upholstered throw pillows, fashioned with fragments of fine 18th/ 19th c. liturgical vestments, each with padded goldwork embroidery executed in gold and silver metal thread, down-filled insert, including: (1) having three floral bouquets of lilies and roses, above scalloped trim finished in metallic braided fringe, two large tassels, on ivory silk ground, approx 29"l, 10"w, 5"d; (1) depicting a cross framed by rays of light, with metallic ribbon trim, on red silk damask ground, approx 20.5"l, 9.5"w, 4"d; 5lbs total Provenance: The collection of Kathryn V. Alexander, an antiques dealer and designer with over 20 years of experience operating shops in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Middleburg, Virginia.
