Lot description
Flintlock Pistol, 18th/19th, estimated .60 caliber. 12" round barrel marked at the top opposite the lock with two proof marks difficult to read, one with 'R' at right side of crossed swords, the lock plate with scrolled and foliate engraving, gilt decoration at left the butt with gilt drums and cannon, some wood chipping along right barrel, the action operates correctly with weak hammer spring, the bore with surface dust, pistol overall approx. 19.5"l, 2.75lbs Provenance: Collection of T'Odon Charles (Chuck) Leshikar, Jr., (Texas,1946-2020), Vietnam, U.S. Army Lt. ,“Delta Raiders,” D Company, 2nd Battalion, 501st Airborne Infantry Regiment, later Echo Company commander, Silver Star, three Bronze Stars, Soldiers Medal, Purple Heart.
