British Martini-Henry Rifle, Mk. IV-1 (IV-A), lever drop block action, .577/450" caliber, 33.2" round barrel, blade front sight, steel nose cap, the first barrel band with bayonet lug and sling swivel, ramrod slot lacks ramrod, the second barrel band approx. 2" forward of the ladder rear sight with markings to 1200 yards, the barrel flat at the breech is marked "EY", the receiver sides are now mostly smooth with limited lettering including at left "1475" over "E", the right side with only remaining "LD" and "IV over 1", and above the trigger guard "EY", the trigger guard  with sling swivel marked "crown. E, 60, E.M." , the front trigger guard tang marked "arrow, WD, crown, E, 80, III.", the hand lever is marked "arrow, WD, crown, E, 29, EN", the steel butt with no visible markings, the right side of the hardwood buttstock is stamped "3135" and "00 above 285", metal is dark silver tone, wood with scratches and surface scars, the wood with later varnishing, the action is good with lever, block and trigger operating correctly, the bore is bright with strong appearing rifling, overall approx. 49"l, 8.60lbs    Provenance: Collection of T'Odon Charles (Chuck) Leshikar, Jr., (Texas,1946-2020), Vietnam, U.S. Army Lt. ,“Delta Raiders,” D Company, 2nd Battalion, 501st Airborne Infantry Regiment, later Echo Company commander, Silver Star, three Bronze Stars, Soldiers Medal, Purple Heart.
