(lot of 2) Native American sterling silver bolo ties, including: (1) Weaver Selina (Hopi, b.1944), silver overlay plaque with Longhair katsina mask, silver bolo tips, braided black leather cord, ornament stamped sun picto mark/ sterling, bolo ornament only: approx 2.25"h, 1.75"w, (1) apparently unsigned, attributed by consignor to Caroline Fred, silver overlay plaque with pronghorn's head, silver bolo tips, braided black leather cord, ornament stamped sterling, bolo ornament only: approx 2.25"h, 1 7/8"w; 112.4 grams total (inclusive of all materials) Provenance: the collection of a psychiatrist who taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in the 1960s and went on to become a founding faculty member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he taught thousands of doctors over a career into the 2000s. The doctor amassed his collection over several years with dedication, care, a critical eye for detail, and cultural appreciation.
