Southwest sterling silver bolo tie, Frank Patania, Jr. (Santa Fe, New Mexico, b.1932), central plaque with mosaic inlay turquoise, in a shadowbox frame, silver bolo tips, braided black leather cord, ornament marked sterling/ conjoined FP with crossbar, bolo ornament only: approx 1 7/8"h, 1 7/8"w, 60.8 grams (inclusive of all materials) Provenance: the collection of a psychiatrist who taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in the 1960s and went on to become a founding faculty member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he taught thousands of doctors over a career into the 2000s. The doctor amassed his collection over several years with dedication, care, a critical eye for detail, and cultural appreciation.
