Native American sterling silver bolo tie, attributed by consignor to Glen Long (Navajo/ Dine, 20th c.), shadowbox plaque with silver applique katsina dancer, accented with turquoise stones set in serrated bezels, silver bolo tips, braided black leather cord, ornament stamped GL/ sterling, bolo ornament only: approx 3"h, 2 3/8"w, 66 grams (inclusive of all materials) Provenance: the collection of a psychiatrist who taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in the 1960s and went on to become a founding faculty member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he taught thousands of doctors over a career into the 2000s. The doctor amassed his collection over several years with dedication, care, a critical eye for detail, and cultural appreciation.
