French black slate and red marble mantle clock, late 19th c., having central white enamel dial with open escapement, Roman numeral hour markers, time-and-strike movement marked Japy Fils, rising on stepped base with fluted scroll motifs, loss to enamel dial near right key hole, accompanied by pendulum, observed operating for five minutes, small chips to slate at lower front edge, approx 13.25"h, 21.5"w, 6.25"d, 43lbs Provenance: From the estate of Carl Carter (Texas, 1955-2023)
