Remington-Maynard Conversion of the 1816 US Type III percussion musket, 42" round rifled barrel, short block form front sight, three barrel bands, cleaning rod, adjustable rear sight, the barrel tang marked "1857 over U over 88," the lock plate with the Maynard tape primer conversion installed by the Philadelphia U.S. Frankford Arsenal, the lockplate marked behind the hammer "Remington's, Ilion, N.Y., 1857, U.S.," two oval inspection marks at left above trigger guard, left side plate marked "S," front trigger guard tang marked "S D," stock stamped in front of trigger guard tang "Davenport," two sling mounts, owner's or issuer's initials on left stock "C.H.P.," steel butt plate marked "US" at upper tang, wood with scars and scratches, metal dark brown, action is good, light surface rust with visible rifling, overall: approx 57.5"l, 9.5lbs Start Price: $400.00
