(lot of 2) Folk art "santos de palo" religious saint figures, late 19th/ early 20th c., carved wood with gesso and polychrome paint, each depicted with the Christ Child, rising on platform base, including: (1) Virgin Carmen, by Domingo Rojas (Puerto Rican, 19th/ 20th c.), accompanied by a copy of a certificate of authenticity issued by Galeria Botello, San Juan, approx 10"h, 4.75"w, 3.5"d; (1) Virgin Mary, cloaked in parcel-gilt blue robe, approx 6.5"h, 3.25"w, 2.25"d; 2.25lbs total Provenance: the Stanley Family's fine Tarrytown Estate.
