(lot of 2) Folk art "santos de palo" religious saint figures, Puerto Rico, late 19th/ early 20th c., carved wood with gesso and polychrome paint, each saint mounted with iron wings, rising on platform base, including: (1) Saint Raphael and Tobit, by Florencio Caban (Puerto Rico, 1876–1951), the saint with one hand holding a fish, accompanied by a copy of a certificate of authenticity issued by Galeria Botello, San Juan, approx 6.75"h, 4.75"w, 2.5"d; (1) Saint Michael Triumphing Over the Devil, remnants of parcel-gilt decoration, intact with glue restoration at the leg, approx 6.25"h, 4"w, 2.5"d; 1lb total Provenance: the Stanley Family's fine Tarrytown Estate.
