(lot of 2) English Regency period mixed wood open armchairs, early 19th c., a near pair, each having curved top rail and horizontal lower rail, over rounded armrests and rectangular seat, including: (1) rising on stretcher-joined tapering supports, approx 33"h, 20.5"w, 19.5"d, seat height: approx 16.5"h; (1) rising on turned legs, ending on front castors, approx 33.5"h, 19.5"w, 16"d, seat height: approx 17.25"h Provenance: The lifetime collection of Lynn Roth Jordan (Louisiana, Texas, 1943-2021). As an active member of the Austin Antiques Club for many years, Lynn was deeply embedded in the antiques community here in Austin. Her New Orleans upbringing in a family of collectors (many of the pieces come from her mother's estate), combined with her frequent trips to England, gave her a unique understanding of provenance, quality, and historical significance.
