English oak foot stool / ottoman, late 19th c., having removable padded seat in a red jacquard upholstery with diamond pattern, rising on barley twist supports joined by H-stretcher, ending on rounded feet, approx 16.5"h, 15.75"w, 11.75"d Provenance: The lifetime collection of Lynn Roth Jordan (Louisiana, Texas, 1943-2021). As an active member of the Austin Antiques Club for many years, Lynn was deeply embedded in the antiques community here in Austin. Her New Orleans upbringing in a family of collectors (many of the pieces come from her mother's estate), combined with her frequent trips to England, gave her a unique understanding of provenance, quality, and historical significance.
