English George III period carved oak armchair, early 19th c., having padded top rail and seat in later patterned fabric upholstery, with nailhead trim, bobbin-turned arms and legs, joined by H stretcher, ending on later front bun feet, restorations, approx 38.5"h, 20"w, 16.5"d, seat height: approx 21"h Provenance: The lifetime collection of Lynn Roth Jordan (Louisiana, Texas, 1943-2021). As an active member of the Austin Antiques Club for many years, Lynn was deeply embedded in the antiques community here in Austin. Her New Orleans upbringing in a family of collectors (many of the pieces come from her mother's estate), combined with her frequent trips to England, gave her a unique understanding of provenance, quality, and historical significance.
