English Georgian period inlaid oak mule chest, early 19th c., having hinged top, revealing interior open storage, the case with faux three-drawer facade, over four short drawers, inlaid throughout with banded trim, framed by columnar corner posts, rising on bracket feet, approx 34.5"h, 62.5"w, 22"d Provenance: The lifetime collection of Lynn Roth Jordan (Louisiana, Texas, 1943-2021). As an active member of the Austin Antiques Club for many years, Lynn was deeply embedded in the antiques community here in Austin. Her New Orleans upbringing in a family of collectors (many of the pieces come from her mother's estate), combined with her frequent trips to England, gave her a unique understanding of provenance, quality, and historical significance.
