English oak blanket chest/ storage trunk, 19th c., hinged top revealing open interior, front panel with nulled carvings, rising on channeled straight supports, stable split lengthwise of lid, approx 29.5"h, 46"w, 23"d Provenance: The lifetime collection of Lynn Roth Jordan (Louisiana, Texas, 1943-2021). As an active member of the Austin Antiques Club for many years, Lynn was deeply embedded in the antiques community here in Austin. Her New Orleans upbringing in a family of collectors (many of the pieces come from her mother's estate), combined with her frequent trips to England, gave her a unique understanding of provenance, quality, and historical significance.
