Lot description
Japanese Wakizashi or short sword, a 14.25" bright steel blade. the blade tang or nakajo without markings, the wood handle with only a little of the wrapping remaining with loss and damage to the ray skin, blade with several small nicks, the gilt finish metal guard or tsuba (2.75" x 2.25") is decorated with cherry blossoms at each corner and is numbered "10" at one side, a second tsuba appearing as brass is approx. 2" x 1.5", four seppa or spacers, copper and other metals and one marked "10", the handle is held to the nakajo or tang by a single mekugi, housed in a black lacquered wood scabbard. overall: approx. 24"l; for shipping 1.65lbs
