Lot description
Japanese sword, the 26.5" bright steel blade with Japanese character markings appearing only on the nakajo or blade tang which is covered by a wood handle with silk wrapping and ray skin, blade in very good condition without nicks, the circular guard or tsuba is dark iron with scrolled engraving and copper spacers or seppa at front and back, the handle secured to the nakajo with one mekugi wood peg, the handle is likely not original to the sword as it is longer than the nakajo, housed in a black lacquered wood scabbard split with damage, overall: approx. 38.5"l; for shipping 3.10lbs
