Historical record: Slave Bill of Sale, October 19,1833, The State of Louisiana-Parish of Iberville, Balthazar Duprey, Administrator for the estate of Vatery Marionneau and Marie Gaspard his wife, both deceased, "a certain Negro ... named Michael aged about 37 and the Negro boy named Tom aged seventeen years were set up and offered for sale to the highest bidder" ... and sold to Francois Marionneau Junior... "and sold at the following prices , to wit, the Negro Michel fourteen hundred and five dollars, and the Negro boy Tom for the price and sum of Seven Hundred and Two Dollars", signed by the parties and the notary Louis Petit, in good condition and readable
