Historical record: Slave Bill of Sale, written in French, August 23, 1833, The State of Louisiana-Parish of Iberville, for the sale of a slave "Negro woman Violet aged sixteen", a Madam Emelie Armitage representing John Ferdinand Scott (believed to be the seller), accompanied by a document allowing her to represent John Ferdinand Scott and notarized by Charles De Armiers (sp?) of New Orleans, the bill of sale is notarized by Louis Petit, documents in good condition
