(lot of 3) Native American silver bolo ties, all likely Navajo/ Dine, each with silver tips, on black braided cord, including: (1) sterling silver bolo tie, sighed E. Secatero (Eddie Secatero, Navajo/ Dine, 20th c.), pierced naja-form ornament with scrolled ends, bolo hallmarked sterling to reverse, bolo ornament only: approx 2"h, 2"w; (2) silver (content unknown) bolo ties, each with central bezel-set turquoise cabochon, (one) signed Ann, naja-form ornament with pointed ends, bolo ornament only: approx 2.5"h, 2.25"w, (one) having shaped ornament, with squash blossom tips, apparently unmarked, bolo ornament only: approx 2.25"h, 1.5"w; 149.9 grams total (inclusive of all materials) Provenance: the collection of a psychiatrist who taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in the 1960s and went on to become a founding faculty member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he taught thousands of doctors over a career into the 2000s. The doctor amassed his collection over several years with dedication, care, a critical eye for detail, and cultural appreciation.
