(lot of 2) Large Native American sterling silver overlay bolo ties, both likely Navajo/ Dine, silver tips, on braided black leather cord, hallmarked sterling to reverse, including: (1) initialed RH, likely Ronnie Hurley (Navajo/ Dine, 20th c.) or Randy Hoskie (Navajo/ Dine, 20th c.), with recessed textural ground and pierced meander trim, lacking one tip, bolo ornament only: approx 3 1/8"h, 2"w; (1) initialed TC, with tapering vertical stripes, bolo ornament only: approx 2.5"h, 2"w; 129.5 grams total (inclusive of all materials) Provenance: the collection of a psychiatrist who taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in the 1960s and went on to become a founding faculty member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he taught thousands of doctors over a career into the 2000s.
