(lot of 2) U.S. Model 1890 Entrenching Knives:  (1) approx. 8.25" blade held with the two pin brass guard marked at one side "U.S. Springfield", at the opposite side numbered "4270", a turned wood handle with slight loss at pommel, housed in the black leather Type 3 sheath converted from the original leather belt loop, now with brass belt hook marked at the back side "Watervliet Arsenal", blade in good condition with no noted nicks, scabbard with finish rubs and surface cracking, overall knife with scabbard approx. 14.75"l; (1) approx. 8.25" blade held with the two pin brass guard marked at one side "Springfield", at the opposite side numbered "2918", a turned wood handle with rubs and some loss at the pommel, housed in the black leather Type 2 scabbard, the belt loop leather has surface cracks obscuring arsenal marks, blade with dark areas and small nicks, knife and scabbard overall 14.75"l, for shipping total of both 2.15lbs   Provenance: Collection of T'Odon Charles (Chuck) Leshikar, Jr., (Texas,1946-2020), Vietnam, U.S. Army Lt. ,“Delta Raiders,” D Company, 2nd Battalion, 501st Airborne Infantry Regiment, later Echo Company commander, Silver Star, three Bronze Stars, Soldiers Medal, Purple Heart.
