U.S. Model 1917 "Knuckle Duster" Trench Knife, the 9.1/8" long triangular blade marked at the D guard "U.S., L.F. & C., 1917 (Landers, Frary, and Clark, New Britain Ct., operated 1842-1965), the D guard with 7 raised 'knuckles', wood finger grip handle, housed in the original scabbard for attachment to a utility belt and marked "Jewell 1918" (Jewell Belting Co, Hartford, Ct.), further stamped "HE." and "MB", knife wood handle with scratching, worn leather on scabbard, overall approx. 14.75"l, 1lb   *Provenance: Collection of T'Odon Charles (Chuck) Leshikar, Jr., (Texas,1946-2020), Vietnam, U.S. Army Lt. ,“Delta Raiders,” D Company, 2nd Battalion, 501st Airborne Infantry Regiment, later Echo Company commander, Silver Star, three Bronze Stars, Soldiers Medal, Purple Heart.
