Lot description
Remington Rolling Block Saddle Ring Carbine, estimated .44 caliber, 19.5" round barrel with single barrel band, the vertical blade on the front sight is non-original, adjustable rear sight marked at the right with elevations "7 to 13" the left side numbered "65482", the receiver tang marked on three lines "Remington Arms Co. Ilion N.Y. U.S.A. Patented OCTR 22nd 1867", the left receiver with bar and saddle ring, walnut stock, the right and left butt stock each have different circular stamps with illegible lettering, sling swivels at barrel band and butt stock, steel butt plate, wood with some light scratching and dings, metal is gray with silver tone, block and hammer operate correctly, action is strong, bore is bright with strong rifling, NSN, ANTIQUE Provenance: Collection of T'Odon Charles (Chuck) Leshikar, Jr., (Texas,1946-2020), Vietnam, U.S. Army Lt. ,“Delta Raiders,” D Company, 2nd Battalion, 501st Airborne Infantry Regiment, later Echo Company commander, Silver Star, three Bronze Stars, Soldiers Medal, Purple Heart.
