(lot of 2) Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver, mfg. 1863, .44 caliber, 8" round barrel, blade front sight, the barrel top marked "-Address Col. Saml Colt New-York U.S. America-", six round cylinder retaining partial Naval battle scene, lower left frame marked on two lines "Colts Patent", serial number matched at barrel lug, frame, brass trigger guard and butt, wedge marked "8127", inspection mark "H" on trigger guard back strap, inspection mark "D" on cylinder and right barrel next to wedge, cylinder arbor pin marked "1622" and inspection mark "T", the revolver accompanied by a Colt Industries letter dated July 10, 1979 stating this revolver was sold to the United States Government, Commanding Officer, New York Arsenal, Governor's Island, N.Y. and shipped on August 29, 1863 within a group of 1000 guns, bore semi bright with some possible light pitting, rifling is good, loading lever operates correctly, metal dark brown with expected scratches, numerous scars at a portion of the cylinder, right wood grips with nine carved notches next to backstrap, action is good and strong, SN 131622 Start Price: $600.00
