Lot description

French brass and glass carriage clock with alarm, early 20th c., Duverdrey and Bloquel, having hinged handle, above glazed case centering white dial, with Arabic hour markers, above alarm clock dial, lion-form maker's mark and initials PR FA at back, loss to glass at right side corner, loss to dial at upper corners, not currently operational, approx 4.5"h, 3.25"w, 2.5"d, 2lbs Provenance: The lifetime collection of Lynn Roth Jordan (Louisiana, Texas, 1943-2021). As an active member of the Austin Antiques Club for many years, Lynn was deeply embedded in the antiques community here in Austin. Her New Orleans upbringing in a family of collectors (many of the pieces come from her mother's estate), combined with her frequent trips to England, gave her a unique understanding of provenance, quality, and historical significance. The estate features an extensive array of English furniture alongside antique decorative objects, the kind of exceptional pieces that only reveal themselves to collectors who know where to look and what to seek.
