Antique Japanese Sword Mountings, Fuchigashira: (1) A Koshira or sword pommel, with a relief depiction of a raven standing on a lichen covered rock, its eye, beak and claw in gold with gold accents on the rocks, the relief decoration extends to one side, an ovoid form approx. 1.5/8"l x .75"w x .5/8"d, 19.7 grams; (1) A Fuchi collar, having two signatures, one side reading "this carved by Ishiguro Masayoshi" (1772-c. 1851), the opposite side reads "Higashi Jugakusai (c.1820-1870), overall with substantial relief depicting gold accented animated monkeys, mother and child and florals, the fuchi approx. 1.75"l, 1"w, .5/8"d, 34.8 grams; all items are housed in a wood box approx. 1.75"h, 5.75"w, 3.5"d, .38lbs Provenance: Retained by inheritance from the sale of an antique Japanese Armor collection sold by Sotheby's, London.
