Lot description
Jacob Rupertus Pepperabox pistol, 1860's, single action, .22 caliber (S&W c. 1853 Flobert style short cartridge), having a 3" eight shot tapered barrel, loading and unloading access by turning counterclockwise the serrated circular piece between the barrel and hammer, the brass frame marked on the left "Rupertus Patent July 19th 1864, marked at the right frame "Rupertus Pat Pistol Mfg Co Philada", rosewood grips, barrel silver tone with old surface rust, hammer and barrel cluster not always in sync with hammer pull, one barrel edge at muzzle slightly bent, hammer and trigger operate correctly, lacks removable ejector rod, serial number matched at butt and the underside of each grip, SN 1573
