Large Southeast Asian carved hardwood architectural panel, depicting four overlapping Bodhisattvas in various dynamic poses, trunk-form standard interspersed with foliates and feather motifs, rising on ebonized display stand, panel: approx 40"h, 15"w, 5"d, overall on stand: approx 49.75"h, 21"w, 8.75"d, 53lbs Provenance: From Donald and Renate Van Stone's Austin, Texas estate. Donald Van Stone served as the Regional Vice President of the First National Bank of Chicago from 1971-1984, a time in which the bank was expanding internationally. After assignments in Germany, Kenya, and Australia, the Van Stones moved to Manila, Philippines where they began amassing an impressive collection of Chinese and Southeast Asian art and artifacts, some of which will be offered in this auction.
