Lot description
French Neoclassical patinated bronze bracket clock, 19th c., crest depicting Saint Michael defeating Lucifer, atop openwork crown with molded cherub masks, portrait plaques, and allegorical figures in scrolled foliate surround, flanked by turned-form finials, over glazed viewing panels, porcelain ring dial with Roman numeral hour markers, marked Lerolle Fres. Paris, centering repousse plaque depicting Venus on eagle-drawn chariot with Cupids, time-and-strike movement marked Lerolle Fres. Paris, rising on stepped base and turned-form feet, further raised on molded platform stand, accompanied by pendulum, some denting to top panel of clock near lower corners, bell detached but present, not currently operational, clock: approx 29.5"h, 13.25"w, 7.5"d, overall on stand: approx 32.25"h, 16 3/8"w, 9 1/8"d, 70.5lbs total
