(lot of 3) Native American silver overlay belt buckles: (2) Dwayne Lomayestewa (Hopi, 20th c.), both executed in sterling silver, (one)  Kokopelli and cornstalk, 1 3/8"h, 2"w, bar: approx 1 1/8"w; (one) man in the maze, approx 1 3/8"h, 1 7/8"w, bar: approx 1", both stamped Lomayestewa below picto animal head mark; (1) silver (content unknown) buckle of oval form, with central corn stalk, signed P?, approx 1.5"h, 2"w, bar: approx 7/8"w; (1) silver (content unknown) buckle, Corn Maiden on a textured ground with lightening and earth symbols, and stamp work, apparently unsigned, approx 1 3/8"h, 2"w, bar: approx 7/8"w; 112 grams (inclusive of all materials) Provenance: the collection of a psychiatrist who taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in the 1960s and went on to become a founding faculty member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he taught thousands of doctors over a career into the 2000s. The doctor amassed his collection over several years with dedication, care, a critical eye for detail, and cultural appreciation.
