(lot of 3) Native American sterling silver overlay belt buckles, Hopi,  including (1) sterling silver buckle, imagery of parrots, stamped duck head? picto mark, sterling, approx 2"h, 3"w, bar: 1 3/8"; (2) small oval buckles, bear paw/ badger design with other traditional symbols; (one) sterling buckle of oval form, cloud picto mark, possibly Dean Siwingyumptewa (20th c.), approx 1.5"h, 2"w, bar: approx .75"w, (one) rectangular form with stylized bear paw picto mark, sterling, approx 1.25"h, 1 7/8"l, bar: approx 7/8"w; 3.79ozt total Provenance: the collection of a psychiatrist who taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in the 1960s and went on to become a founding faculty member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he taught thousands of doctors over a career into the 2000s.
