Native American silver (content unknown) bolo tie, Larry and Faye Lonjose (Zuni, 20th c.), modeled as Knifewing katsina, multi stone inlay with turquoise, red coral, oyster shell, and jet, on a braided black leather cord, conical tips ending in a bench bead, bolo ornament only: approx 2 7/8"h, 2"w, 35.1 grams (inclusive of all materials) Provenance: the collection of a psychiatrist who taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in the 1960s and went on to become a founding faculty member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he taught thousands of doctors over a career into the 2000s. The doctor amassed his collection over several years with dedication, care, a critical eye for detail, and cultural appreciation.
