Lot description
British Tipping & Lawden Wells Fargo marked coach style percussion shotgun, 12 gauge, 21.5" barrels, bead front sight, the solid rib marked "London", the barrel undersides with Birmingham proof marks and "13", barrel lug marked "1872", the watertable with proof marks and marked within an oval "Patent No 324 1870 over 1872", both receiver plates with makers name, the break lever marked "Patent, Self Locking, Vertical Grip", the left stock wood stamped in several places "Wells Fargo, Express", "Agent, J.G. Leonard", "Arms-Ammo", and within a circle "Wells Fargo Property 54", the right stock stamped "Stage" and "SF Cal", and a shield form badge reading "Wells Fargo, 54, Express, 1891", a steel butt plate, wood and metal with expected scratching, action is good with right hammer tip broken off, borers bright with no discernible dents, Note: Wells Fargo Identification Has Not Been Authenticated
