Lot description

Kentucky Heavy Barrel Flintlock Rifle, estimated .60 caliber, having a full length tiger maple stock with steel nose cap, ram rod, a 54.75"l octagonal barrel with straight rifling, blade front sight, fixed rear sight, the barrel top flat with an inset brass plate reading "John Fravel Warranted", the lockplate, without maker name, has minimal crude decoration, trigger and set trigger, the butt stock left side with cheek piece having inset metal starburst decoration, the right butt stock with steel patch box, a curving steel butt plate, expected scratching on wood and metal, hammer spring is strong and holds hammer back but does not respond to trigger or set trigger, hammer, when set, may be closed by holding trigger to maximum and snapping hammer back, bore with surface rust, rifle overall length approx. 71"l, 17.80lbs
