Academically trained in painting and drawing at the University of Utah, Price has remarked on his affinity for Impressionist painting and Claude Monet's artistic contribution to the movement. Following a family trip to Monet's home studio in Giverny, France, where the artist perfected his "en plein air" approach to painting, Price was inspired to create this sculptural group of the "Father of Impressionism" for his "Great Contributors" series.
