Awatovi black-on-yellow pottery bowl, painted on the interior with an elaborate composition of abstracted avian forms with stepped, spiral, and spear-like devices, the exterior showing opposed geometricized bird motifs, a spirit break in the interior framing band, approx 4"h, 8.25"diam, 1.75lbs Provenance: From the collection of Frank K. Ribelin (1933-2010) through inheritance to consignor. This lot was examined via photograph by a highly regarded specialist in Native American and ethnographic art.
