Lot description
U.S. Model 1816 Harpers Ferry Flintlock Musket, Type 1, mfg.1820,.69 caliber, 42" round barrel, blade front sight on barrel and front barrel band, ram rod, the three barrel bands each marked "7", a sling loop at the center band, the left side of the barrel marked opposite the lock "P" within circle over "eagle head" over "V". the barrel tang marked "1820", the lockplate forward of the hammer marked with an "eagle over US", further marked behind the hammer "Harpers Ferry 1830", the left side plate and screws marked "7" and "c", the trigger guard with a sling loop and marked "7" at the front tang, the steel butt plate marked "7" at the upper tang, includes the installed U.S. bayonet, barrel is silver tone with brown spots, lockplate retains some casehardening color, action is good with spark from installed flint, bore with light surface rust *ANTIQUE*
