Flemish woven tapestry fragment, 18th c., depicting a female figure with rightward gaze, seated in an opulent den with dog in lap, the room featuring an architectural mantelpiece, draped textiles, and a portrait roundel, mounted on later wood rod at top, overall wear and loss to weft threads, old stitched reinforcements throughout, approx 99"h, 44"w Provenance: The collection of Kathryn V. Alexander, an antiques dealer and designer with over 20 years of experience operating shops in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Middleburg, Virginia. Kathryn retired in 2020 and now lives in Georgetown, Texas PLEASE NOTE: All of the textiles in this auction would likely benefit from a professional cleaning. Though we do not currently observe any major tears or losses, most are likely to have some staining, missing trim, and evidence of wear.
