(lot of 46) French library shelf books, various medical science, economic, chemistry, and literature subjects, each with gilt-embossed tan leather binding, marbleized cover, most with raised spine bands, highlights include: (16) "Bibliotheque Physico-Economique, Instructive et Amusante (Library of Physical-Economics, Instruction and Fun)," published by F. Buisson, Paris, dates ranging from 1788-1809, (4) "Dictionnaire de Chymie (Dictionary of Chemistry)," compiled by M. Macquer, published by P. Theophile Barrois, 1778, complete in four volumes, (4) "Journal General de Medecine de Chirurgie et de Pharmacie (General Journal of Medicine, Surgery and Pharmacy)," published by Croullebois, Theophile Barrois, and Les Principaux Libraries, dates range from 1800-1803, some with evidence of old bookworm and continued degradation, largest: approx 8"h, 5.5"w, 1.25"d, 37lbs total PLEASE NOTE: All of the antique library shelf books in this auction are inherently fragile.
