(lot of 4) U.S. Army M1854 Leather Cap Boxes, one retains the mark on the inside flap of "E Gaylord, Chicopee, Mass." (Emerson Gaylord, 1817-1899, his company having as many as 450 personnel to full U.S. contracts for leather accoutrements), faint portions of oval stamps visible on others boxes, two with substantial leather cracking and deterioration, largest measure 3.5" x 1.75" x 3.5", total of all .65lbs
