U.S. Army Model 1881 Dress Helmet, blue with yellow plume and yellow cord of sufficient length to help prevent loss of helmet, the front  large brass plate depicting the American Eagle holding a "E Pluribus Unum banner" and the federal shield with "7" for the Seventh U.S. Cavalry Regiment, the visor chin strap side buttons with crossed swords for cavalry, the interior of the sweat band marked "W.H. Horstman Co, Philadelphia, Contract Feb. 10, 1902", further marked "Chas. E. Backett, Inspector", the interior metal plume inside plate marked by Horstmann Co.,). appears in excellent condition, short tear at sweat band, overall approx. 11.25" x 10.5" x 6.5", 1lb     Provenance: Collection of T'Odon Charles (Chuck) Leshikar, Jr., (Texas,1946-2020), Vietnam, U.S. Army Lt. ,“Delta Raiders,” D Company, 2nd Battalion, 501st Airborne Infantry Regiment, later Echo Company commander, Silver Star, three Bronze Stars, Soldiers Medal, Purple Heart.
