Lot description

Large Native American sterling silver overlay bolo tie, rounded ornament with central figure in wolf mask, with silver tips, on braided black leather cord, bolo initialed BP with arrow motif to reverse, hallmarked sterling, bolo ornament only: approx 3"h, 2"w, 90.1 grams (inclusive of all materials) Provenance: the collection of a psychiatrist who taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in the 1960s and went on to become a founding faculty member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he taught thousands of doctors over a career into the 2000s. The doctor amassed his collection over several years with dedication, care, a critical eye for detail, and cultural appreciation.
