Native American silver (content unknown) bolo tie, Dennis Edaakie (Zuni, Parrot-Macaw Clan, b.1931) and Nancy Edaakie (Zuni, Frog Clan, b.1937), oval plaque with shell-inlaid owl perched on a berry branch, framed by multi stone border of turquoise, jet, red coral and lapis lazuli, silver bolo tips, braided black leather cord, ornament stamped Dennis/ Nancy Edaakie, bolo ornament only: approx 2.5"h, 2.25"w, 63.7 grams (inclusive of all materials) Provenance: the collection of a psychiatrist who taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in the 1960s and went on to become a founding faculty member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he taught thousands of doctors over a career into the 2000s. The doctor amassed his collection over several years with dedication, care, a critical eye for detail, and cultural appreciation.
