U.S. Army Model 1881 Artillery Dress Helmet, blue with red plume and red cord of sufficient length to help prevent loss of helmet, the front  large brass plate depicting the American Eagle holding a "E Pluribus Unum banner" and the federal shield with "3" for the Third U.S. Artillery Regiment, the visor chin strap side buttons with crossed cannons for Artillery, marked 6.7/8 at sweat band, the interior sweat band marked with information regarding a Philadelphia contract, the interior metal plume plate marked "Raymold & Whitlock" (William F. Raymold, Benjamin M. Whitlock, New York, army helmets from 1881 to 1886). appears in excellent condition, short tear at sweat band, overall approx. 11.25" x 10.5" x 6.5", 1lb   Provenance: Collection of T'Odon Charles (Chuck) Leshikar, Jr., (Texas,1946-2020), Vietnam, U.S. Army Lt. ,“Delta Raiders,” D Company, 2nd Battalion, 501st Airborne Infantry Regiment, later Echo Company commander, Silver Star, three Bronze Stars, Soldiers Medal, Purple Heart.
