Chinese carved wood figure of the Bodhisattva Guanyin (Avalokiteshvara), elongated earlobes, downcast eyes, facial features highlighted with paint, loosely draped robes, standing on a double lotus base, sealed cavity (approx 1" x 0.75") at the back of the sculpture, losses to fingers and toes, lacking element in open hand, UV examination reveals adhesive residue on front drapes of robes, face and between figure and base, approx 10.25"h, 3"diam, 1lbs Provenance: from a fine Houston estate
